Email our parish secretary here to find out when we'll be running our next Alpha.

What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each film looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, it’s free, and everyone’s welcome.

Over 24 million people have tried Alpha in 169 countries, and it has been translated into 112 different languages.  Developed as a short course at HTB in London, Alpha now runs in every part of the global church, including the Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church and mainline Protestant denominations.

See here about Alpha in a Catholic context.

The informal gatherings consist of:

30 minute hot meal;

30 minute film;

30 minute group discussion

Our parish has been running Alpha since 2018.  The above photo shows one of the meals at that first series.  Since then we have aimed to run smaller but more frequent series in the informal setting of people's homes.

Our meetings take place

in a relaxed

informal setting

in a parishioner's home.

Each group has a host, with two helpers to organise the food and hospitality.
