St Anthony's has a 'Ladies Group' that exists to organise social gatherings.
a monthly Thursday afternoon Benediction, followed by tea and coffee in the hall;
an annual summer cream tea at a local garden centre;
other occasional pastimes.
Meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of the month (except August) and usually start with Benediction at 2:30 p.m. in the church.
The current Ladies Group was formed in April 2020 when the previous Ladies Guild had to close due to not being able to find members for an organising committee. The new Group is more informally organised but still has a regular rota to organise refreshments at the monthly meetings.
The Ladies Guild was one of the oldest established groups in the parish. It used to organise the Lenten Lunches but these are now run separately. The Guild used to run a stall and raffle at the church Christmas Fayre but we'll have to see if the new Group is able to carry this forward.
Membership is open to all ladies of the parish.
